Julie Stiglets is the assistant principal at East Hancock Elementary. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2001. She continued her education receiving her Master’s Degree in School Leadership from William Carey University in 2017. Julie is entering her fifteenth year in education and has served the Hancock County School District since 2012. She began her teaching career at East Hancock Elementary as a kindergarten teacher and moved on to teach fourth grade ELA.
Ms. Stiglets values the importance of fostering a safe and positive school environment to support and encourage a love for learning. She has a passion for helping others learn and grow to be the best they can be.
As a parent and an educator, she believes that elementary school years are important and should be a time for students to feel excited about school and learning. Julie looks forward to interacting with each and every one of you in the school community! She shares, in the words of Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
Julie is a lifelong resident of Hancock County, growing up in Bay St. Louis. She has been married to her husband, Tim, for nineteen years and together they have three amazing children- Emma, Riley, and Chase. All of her children have been a part of the East Hancock family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, having family movie nights at home, and hanging out with her family and friends.
